Has this ever happened at your house? It is the day before a huge family dinner you are hosting. You decide to go ahead and get your pies baked, so you preheat your oven. While the oven is warming up, you have a few minutes, so you throw the last load of laundry into the washing machine. As the washer fills, you come back to your kitchen and open the oven door for the pies and notice it right away, something is wrong… Oh no! The oven didn’t heat up at all. Did you forget to press the start key after you set the temperature? You try again and see the panel on the oven didn’t even light up when you pushed the buttons! What are you going to do? You have a twenty pound turkey to roast tomorrow, and your guests are on their way to spend the night. Why do these things always happen when you are getting ready for a big event… and who are you going to call that can be TRUSTED to correctly diagnose the problem and FIX IT RIGHT?
Meet Bob Burger, owner of Central Illinois Appliance Repair
Bob has always enjoyed fixing things. After trying out other jobs, he decided to use this natural ability for a career, so he went to school for his HVAC training and certification. Upon completing the coursework, he worked at an appliance repair/sales company to see if he had truly found his niche. Bob certainly enjoyed the repair work and was especially fond of the feeling he got when he could fix a customer’s appliance and make them happy. However, he had always wanted to own his own business and do things “his way”. So, in 2013, he made the decision to become self-employed and started Central Illinois Appliance Repair. While he and his family live in New Holland, Illinois, he will travel throughout the area for service calls. He takes calls in the Clinton- Springfield area, north to Tremont, East to Decatur and West to Havana. Bob is also a GE warranty repairman, so if your GE appliance is under warranty and has issues, he may be the guy they send out for your repair.
When asked what he likes best about his career, Bob didn’t hesitate for a minute. He smiled broadly and told us, "The smile on the face of my customers when I fix their problem and they don't have to go out and purchase a new appliance they weren't prepared to buy!"
