It’s “all in the family” at Tremont Gallery and Pearl Street Stamping! Sisters Ann Mitzelfelt and Carla Williams, who own and operate their store in the Tremont Depot, grew up working in the family business. The Toepfer family owned and operated Tremont Lumber for many years. In 1986, a space was added in the lumber store to sell collectibles. While at first glance this may seem odd, it was a natural progression of a personal hobby and passion for collecting figurines. Toepfer Gallery became a destination for collectible shoppers from around the area. When Tremont Lumber was sold, Carla and Ann purchased the collectible part of the business. After they added an addition to the original Tremont Depot building, Tremont Gallery officially opened at its current location in October 2000 to sell gifts and collectibles.
In 2010, Ann and Carla decided to expand their store by adding rubber art stamps and card making supplies. This portion of their business, Pearl Street Stamping, has grown to also include card making classes and other related events. Anyone is welcome to make a card at the “Make It Take It” sessions on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of the month from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. This is a free event, and sign up is not required. Bring a friend to double the fun!
At Tremont Gallery you will find a large selection of items ranging from adult coloring books to candles, small wall art, items for children, napkins and inspirational gifts. You will also find collectibles such as Swarovski Crystal and Isabel Bloom. Pearl Street Stamping offers 1000’s of rubber stamps and other card making supplies. Ann and Carla enjoy owning a small business in Tremont, Illinois and they welcome you to stop by soon!
